Invisibilization

“In my show, I promote 50-year-old women! I sell them to men because at 50, you are the perfect woman,” she says, before praising the qualities of the latter, and her own at the same time. “We can't spy on our “guy” on his cell phone because our vision is blurry”, “We're no longer jealous”, “When you

go out clubbing, we're happy because we can make our color,” she lists mischievously. But when it comes to addressing the issue of the invisibility of these women, the Lyonnaise regains her seriousness: for her, age is only an excuse that hides another problem.

“We have taken a giant step forward. A few decades ago, a 50-year-old woman was my grandmother: the styling, the glasses, the blouse and the comfortable shoes,” she laughs. And to continue: “Today, I find that we have come a long way. I don't think women aren't visible at 50. On the other hand, I find that they are not visible when they are not very pretty. It's not so much age, it's a certain form of beauty that is still demanded of women.

“I want to be called Miss”

For Florence Foresti, age is therefore not a subject. Moreover, she escapes from it, defining herself as “transage”. A concept of her own that she clarifies. “I identify as a 30-year-old woman. And I want everyone to identify me like that! I want to be called Mademoiselle,” she jokes, still specifying that it is a “show joke”.

But this joke nevertheless hides a grain of truth. “When you are old, now I can say that I am old, you always feel younger than you are. And it’s true that I only understand it now,” admits the comedian, remembering the time when others spoke to him about this feeling. “And then when you experience it, you say to yourself: “yes, actually, I can't be 50 in my head!”. So I compared it to transidentity because it is a form of transidentity to identify as a young woman,” she concludes.
