In New Delhi, the first round of the HeroIndian Open started off in the best way for Matteo Manassero.
The blue, with a bogey free round in 65 (-7) strokes, highlighted by an eagle and five birdies, shares the top of the rankings with the Dutch Joost Luiten and the Japanese Keita Nakajima. After returning to success on the DP World Tour, in South Africa and in the Jonsson Workwear Open, the Italian dreams of a new venture on the highest continental circuit. "It was a special day, I played well from tee to green, I'm certainly happy with this result", the satisfaction of the 30-year-old from Veneto.
On the course of the DLF G&CC (par 72) following the leaders, all in 4th position with 66 (-6), here are the French RomainLangasque and the English Sam Bairstow and Jordan Smith. As for the other Azzurri, a good start also for Lorenzo Scalise, 21st with 69 (-3). Behind him Guido Migliozzi, 43/o with 71 (-1), and Francesco Laporta, 64/o with 72 (par). Andrea Pavan, 80/o with 73 (+1), Filippo Celli and Edoardo Molinari, both 108/i with 75 (+3), risk elimination and are called to change gear.
The Hero Indian Open, now in its 57th edition, offers 2,500,000 dollars up for grabs, of which 382,500 will go to the winner.
