Israel's Supreme Court - in a strong step - issued a temporary order preventing the government from funding the monthly salaries of a group of Orthodox Jews in religious schools after April 1.
The move - according to the media - was justified by the fact that the relevant legal framework no longer exists as Benjamin Netanyahu's government was unable to agree on a comprehensive reform law for Orthodox Jews' exemption from the draft. The decision creates strong tensions in the prime minister's government where there are two religious parties that have harshly attacked the Supreme Court's move
