Highlights: Electric bills down 19.8% in second quarter. Spending for the typical family in the rolling year will be around 662 euros. This is the last quarterly update of the tariffs of the protected market. For non-vulnerable customers, the tariffs are expected to end on the 30th June. The price of energy reached its maximum peaks in the second quarter of 2023, when the bill was -47.7% higher than in the equivalent 12 months of the previous year, Arera says.

The electricity bill in the protected market drops by 19.8% in the second quarter of 2024. Arera communicates this, recalling that this is the last quarterly update of the tariffs of the protected market which - for non-vulnerable customers - is expected to end on the 30th June.

In terms of final effects, spending for the typical family in the rolling year (from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024) will be around 662 euros, returning close to pre-crisis levels and marking -47.7% compared to to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year (1 July 2022 - 30 June 2023), when the price of energy reached its maximum peaks.
