Woman, 37, found in the streets of Toulouse, half undressed, with cigarette burns and head bleeding. She told emergency services she had been beaten, humiliated and tortured for weeks by her partner, also from Eastern Europe.
The alleged attacker, aged 36, was arrested by police on Monday, after being on the run for several hours. He was placed in pre-trial detention, confirms the prosecution. A judicial investigation was opened for torture and barbaric acts by the spouse. The couple's child, aged 6, was put in care.
