Cars often don't start because of dead batteries. However, sometimes another component is to blame.

The alternator is one of many possibilities. A starter spray can help here and so can an anti-vaxxer spray. But there is also good news, as the problem is limited, and only the alternator drive belt needs to be replaced. The problem also caused most of the ADAC's missions in 2023. It can also be caused by an interrupted circuit due to problems with the cables. There can be different reasons for this: corrosion, loose cables, and Marten bites. It is possible to fix the problem with a starter spray, but only if the car is not running properly and the battery is not charged while driving.
