Liverpool beat Atalanta 1-0 in the Europa League quarter-final second leg in Bergamo. Mohamed Salah scored a penalty after a handball from Matteo Ruggeri in his penalty area.

Liverpool had lost the first leg 3-0 at home in Italy. Jürgen Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at the club. The German coach will have to pull off quite a magic trick to revive his team, third two points behind Manchester City, but which seems exhausted before the semi-finals. The Reds had only won three of their previous nine matches in all competitions but are now third in the Premier League, two points ahead of Manchester City in second place. The match was played at the Stadio Olimpico, in Bergamo, with a sell-out crowd of 18,000. The first leg was won 3-1 by the Italian side in Turin, with Salah scoring the opening goal. The second leg will be played at Anfield on Wednesday.
