Belgian cyclist Arnaud De Lie is suffering from Lyme disease. Lyme disease is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium of the Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato complex transmitted to humans by the bites of infected ticks.

De Lie, 22, was still on a 51st place at the E3 Grand Prix and an anonymous 90th place at Ghent-Wevelgem when he announced on Monday that he was going to take a break. It is not yet known when he will return to competition.
