Several explosions were heard on the night of Friday, April 19 in the Isfahan region, in central Iran, as well as in the Baghdad region. The Fars press agency, for its part, confirmed several explosions, while indicating that it did not know their origin.

This activity comes at a time when Israel has promised to respond to the missile and drone attack launched last Saturday against its territory, in response to the Iranian strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1. A US official later confirmed to ABC News that Israeli missiles struck a site in Iran, without specifying which one. The Iranian Fars news agency confirmed that explosions were seen near the Isfahan airport, five days after Tehran's attack on Israel. It is not yet known if the explosions were caused by Israeli missiles or drones or if they were in retaliation for the Iranian attack on Israeli territory. The Isfahan region is particularly known for being home to the Natanz nuclear facility, which is part of Iran's nuclear program.
