A fire broke out in Saint-Étienne, disrupting traffic on the nearby A72 motorway. The disaster started from an individual's outdoor storage, before exploding gas bottles and spreading to a residential building.

Around twenty bottles are still stored in a building engulfed in flames. Two of them exploded while firefighters were already deployed. A firefighter was injured.
