Two months after a much-deplored felling of trees on private property on Bärenmühlweg, Weilheim's building committee was now discussing the construction project planned there. 15 garages or storage rooms are to be built in two buildings on the previously undeveloped property.

According to the city building department, the built-up area would be 453 square meters - plus 396 square meters of access with grass pavers. The administration had "doubts that the project would fit in," summarized Stefan Kirchmayer, the building committee's chairman. City architect Katrin Fischer was even clearer: "Sealing almost the entire property and sacrificing a tree for it no longer fits in today,' she said at the meeting on Tuesday.
