The Sicilian island of Ustica on Friday stripped Benito Mussolini of the honorary citizenship of the island he was granted during his 20-year rule in Italy. As well as the late Fascist dictator, also several Fascist 'gerarchi' or high officials were stripped of the honor.
(HANDLE). 'I am Mussolini.' Mussolini's speech to the Italian parliament was broadcast live from the island on Friday. The speech was followed by a minute of silence for Mussolini, who died in 1943, and a minute for his wife, who was killed in a plane crash in 1944. The Italian prime minister was buried on the island in a ceremony attended by thousands of people.
