City buys demolished house for 125,000 euros - it is only worth 10,000 euro. Homberg will buy the building at Hauptstrasse 35 in Wernswig, northern Hesse, for 12 times the assessed value.
The property was foreclosed on in June last year. The highest bidder bought the building for 27,500 euros - that wasn't the city. If the building were demolished, the bottleneck in front of the complex could be defused. This would increase road safety for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
