The Beloved of the City of Jerusalem decoration is a tradition that began with the unification of the city in 1967. It is awarded by Mayor Moshe Leon to people who have made a significant and unique contribution to the city.

Out of 138 recommendations, the committee for selecting the beloved ones of Jerusalem chose 12 winners. The decoration will be awarded to the chosen ones on the upcoming Jerusalem Day. The individuals were selected by a public committee led by the retired president of the Jerusalem District Court, Judge David Cheshin. The award will be given to retired Judge Dalia Dorner for years of extensive legal activity and her tenure as a judge at the Supreme Court. Dr. Shmuel Levinger for his groundbreaking work in the fields of laser and eyeglass removal, and the establishment and management of the Eye Center in Jerusalem. Rabbi Yona Meshulam-Fodor for his extensive community activity as a certified rabbi who merges different sectors and merges religious and secular people. Mrs. Mia Halevy for making many initiatives and programs accessible for the promotion of science education in Israel.
