The Tokyo Stock Exchange starts the last session of the week in positive territory. The Nikkei advanced by 0.27% to 40,277.25, adding 109 points.

Caution prevails on the foreign exchange market in the prospect of an intervention by the monetary authorities to stem the devaluation of the yen against the dollar, at 151.40 after having stabilized at its lowest level in 34 years, and against the euro, at 163.30. The market was closed on Good Friday.
