The Sarzbüttel cheese dairy has issued an urgent recall for some of its cheese products. The trigger is potential contamination of the products with listeria.

The Federal Office of Consumer Protection has now announced that additional best-before dates (MHD) could be affected. The focus is on the product "North Sea cheese 55% - slices in a multi-layer pack, freshness pack 2 layers, 150g” with the following expiry dates. Customers are strongly advised not to consume it if they have appropriate cheese packages of "Nordseekäse 55% fat, i.e. with the above-mentioned best before date.”. The company Rewe said that its information first had to be checked within the company's own company. Only then can a statement be expected. The recall is not expected to affect other Rewe cheese products, the company said in an email to MailOnline on April 17th, 2017. The deadline for the recall is April 18th, 2017.
