Istat, the number of births in Italy in 2023 continues to decline. In Italy 58.9 million residents, a slight decrease.
Population variation reveals a heterogeneous picture. In the South the variation is negative (-4.1 per thousand). In the North, however, it increased by 2.7 per thousand. That of the Center is stable (+0.1per thousand) 6 newborns per thousand inhabitants (ANSA) . The decline in births continues in 20 23 in Italy.
