A 6,000-year-old ivory vessel was uncovered in the south of Israel - voila! tourism. The ivory vessel indicates a barter trade that took place with Egypt already in the Chalcolithic period.

It was found in an archaeological dig crumbled to pieces. The vessel, which was discovered in 2020 crumbled into pieces, arrived at the Antiquities Authority laboratories and was reassembled in a complex conservation process. The find enhances our understanding of the period and the cultural and commercial connections of the region.
